LoL Worlds 2019 Betting Prediction for the Semi-finals Stage

Worlds 2019 had some wildly unpredictable matches, but through all of those, four teams manage to get into the semi-finals and one step closer to being this year's world champions. In less than a week, Invictus Gaming will go head-to-head in a best-of-5 series with fellow LPL team FunPlus Phoenix, while LEC's G2 Esports will face three-time champion and all-time Korean favorite SK Telecom T1. Which teams will make it to the finals stage? Here is our LoL Worlds 2019 betting prediction for the semi-finals stage.

November 2 Prediction - Invictus Gaming vs FunPlus Phoenix

LoL Worlds 2019 predictions

Invictus Gaming (CN) [LPL]

Invictus Gaming (IG) was last year's champ, beating EU favorites Fnatic in a dominant 3-0 sweep. This year, IG dropped a couple of games to DAMWON Gaming, forcing them to play in a tie-breaker against NA's Team Liquid. After a clean win, the LPL team redeemed themselves by an impressive 3-1 win against LCK 2nd seed Griffin, which only dropped a single game to EU championship veterans G2.

FunPlus Phoenix (CN) [LPL]

FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) is new to the championship scene, but they are China's first seed from the LPL. They came out on top of Group B during the group stage, dropping only two games (to EU's play-in Splyce and Taiwan's 1st seed J Team). In the quarterfinals stage, FPX showed the world why they are the China's 1st seed this year, beating last year's 2nd place Fnatic 3-1.

Our prediction - FunPlus Phoenix

This is a match that can easily go either way. Both teams did well in the group stage and they both had dominant wins over well-known tournament mainstays during the quarterfinal stage. However, to conclude this betting prediction of Worlds Semi-finlas, FunPlus Phoenix has shown more consistent performance this year even in the local Chinese scene, easily beating teams like RNG which have consistently given IG a difficult time on several occasions. Of course, it will be far from a stomp and we won't be surprised if these two teams even reach game 5.

November 3 Prediction - G2 Esports vs SK Telecom T1

G2 Esports (EU)[LEC]

G2 Esports (G2) is another familiar face in the world championship scene, with each appearance looking stronger than their last. In 2016, they were dead last in their group. In 2017, second last. However, in 2018, they managed to get out of groups and even scored an upset victory over RNG, which was then widely favored to be one of the finalists. This year, they return to the semifinal stage by defeating this year's dark horse, DAMWON Gaming in a convincing 3-1 lead.

SK Telecom T1 (KR) [LCK]

Whenever people talk about LoL Worlds, you can bet that someone will bring up SK Telecom T1 (SKT). The only team to call themselves three-time champions, SKT has Faker which is considered the greatest LoL player of all time and Mata who is also a former champion (as a support for Samsung White). As expected, Korea's 1st seed got past the group stage dropping only one game to EU's Fnatic. In the quarterfinals stage, SKT defeated Splyce 3-1.

Our prediction - SK Telecom T1

Of all the teams participating in the series, SKT has always been the most consistent in terms of performance. G2's biggest win to date was the upset against RNG; for SKT that was Tuesday. Barring a few upsets, SKT somehow manages to either snowball a game or come back by exploiting the smallest mistakes their opponent does. Some say that Faker could play a lot better this year, but the team as a whole has so much talent that they could even play around those shortcomings. It's almost a given that SKT will take a spot in the finals this year.
